Needling is something that features on many people’s list of taboos, and rightly so: it’s a form of play associated not only with pain but also with high risk.
Besides, what’s the point of it?
In fact, it can have significant physical benefits for an evolutionary reason: just as with impact play, the body releases a multitude of hormones during the activity. But when it comes to small, harmless skin penetrations or superficial punctures of the skin, the pain is only localised and fleeting, whilst the hormonal release is all the greater.
For some, it offers a very quick route into their subspace; for others, it’s about switching off and enjoying the experience, regardless of the power dynamic.
Right, so that’s easy then – a little prick, that can’t be too bad, can it?
Oh, yes, it can. You need to know exactly where you’re allowed to prick, which needle to use, what precautions to take and what aftercare might be necessary.
Regardless of whether you prefer to be on the Dom*me or sub side, you should know how to do it properly. That’s why it really makes sense to be introduced to this kind of play by someone who truly knows how to do it right.
A Dom known on Fetlife by the nickname Doc Henry has been practising for decades and has in-depth knowledge of both the theory and the practice.
This knowledge will be shared with anyone keen to learn during the 3-hour workshop, which includes theory, practical sessions and snacks.
The next session is coming up this weekend: on Saturday 18 July 2026, from 6.00 pm.
