Our magazine in detail
1. Content and focus
At “safeword”, we place particular emphasis on striking a balance between images and text. Our magazine presents artistic content and promotes collaboration with photographers from all over the world. It is important to us that the visual presentation always celebrates the aesthetics and artistry of BDSM. To ensure that “safeword” can be purchased at standard retail outlets, we avoid pornographic imagery.
To this end, we have identified the following key themes:
Art and Aesthetics
A selection of photographs of artistic merit
Portraits and interviews with photographers and artists from the BDSM scene
2. Education and Mental Wellbeing
Articles on key aspects of mental health in the context of BDSM
Discussions on healthy relationship dynamics and dealing with emotions
3. Health and Safety
Information on safe practices and health advice for BDSM activities
Information on sobriety and healthy habits in sexuality
4. Life Coaching and Self-Acceptance
