“safeword” is a new, innovative, German-language lifestyle magazine explicitly aimed at the BDSM community, focusing on education, exchange, and artistic expression. Our goal is to create a respectful and informed space for everyone interested in the diverse facets of BDSM culture.

 

With "safeword," we want to foster a respectful and open dialogue about BDSM and help to remove the stigma surrounding the topic. We strive to create a platform that not only informs but also inspires and connects. Through creative and engaging content, we aim to make the diversity and positive aspects of BDSM culture more visible.

 

In addition to consistent typography and clean, spacious layouts, we place particular emphasis on a balanced interplay between image and text. Our print magazine showcases artistic content and fosters collaborations with photographers from around the world. It is important to us that the visual presentation always celebrates the aesthetics and artistry of BDSM. We avoid pornographic depictions in the print edition to ensure our magazine's availability in regular retail outlets.

 

A "safeword" is far more than just a signal to stop. It's the foundation of trust, the boundary that makes freedom possible, and the anchor in a sea of intense stimuli. We report from the community, from real people and their experiences. We are open to all genders, see ourselves as a magazine with feminist values, and take a clear stance on sobriety in BDSM.

safeword-magazine takes place where the kinky lifestyle goes deep: in the tension between psychology, aesthetics and radical honesty.

 

Our articles and interviews address topics such as education and mental well-being, health and safety, life coaching and self-acceptance, destigmatization and neurodiversity. Safeword also aims to make a statement and advocate for a sober BDSM community. For us, a responsible and healthy practice of BDSM is incompatible with impaired judgment. Safeword is intended to be a magazine for the BDSM community and is primarily aimed at individuals.

 

We invite everyone interested to become part of our journey and join us in an open, creative, and supportive community. "safeword" is more than just a magazine; it's a space for discovery, exchange, and acceptance.
